Refund Policy
1. Introduction
This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances in which refunds, credits, transfers, and cancellations may be granted by Great Light Education ("GLE", "we", "our", or "us").
This policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions, Enrolment Agreement, Attendance Policy, and Tuition Credit Policy.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all students enrolled in any Great Light Education program, including but not limited to:
• Mini Group Classes (2–6 students)
• One-to-One Tutoring
• Holiday Programs
• Workshops
• Assessment Services
• Trial Lessons
3. General Refund Policy
Tuition fees are used to secure a student's place in a class and to cover staffing, administration, curriculum development, and operational costs.
Unless required under Australian Consumer Law, tuition fees are generally non-refundable once a student has commenced the enrolled program.
Refund requests will only be considered in accordance with this policy.
4. Trial Lessons
Trial lesson fees are non-refundable once the lesson has taken place.
If Great Light Education cancels a trial lesson and cannot offer an alternative time, a full refund will be provided.
5. Group Classes (2–6 Students)
5.1 Student Absences
If a student is unable to attend a scheduled class:
• More than 7 days' notice may be eligible for a make-up lesson, subject to availability.
• Less than 7 days' notice will generally not be eligible for a make-up lesson, refund, or credit.
• Recorded lessons may be provided where available.
Missed classes due to student absence are not refundable.
5.2 Withdrawal from a Group Program
Where a parent chooses to withdraw a student from an ongoing group program:
• At least 14 days' written notice must be provided.
• Any unused prepaid fees may be converted to a tuition credit at the discretion of Great Light Education.
• Refunds will generally not be provided for change of mind, scheduling conflicts, or extracurricular commitments.
6. One-to-One Tutoring
6.1 Rescheduling
Students may request to reschedule a lesson:
• More than 48 hours before the scheduled lesson, subject to teacher availability.
• Less than 48 hours before the lesson may result in the lesson being forfeited.
6.2 Missed Lessons
Students who fail to attend a scheduled lesson without notice are not entitled to a refund, credit, or replacement lesson.
7. Holiday Programs and Workshops
Holiday program and workshop fees are non-refundable within 14 days of the program commencement date.
Where written notice is provided more than 14 days prior to commencement, Great Light Education may offer:
• A tuition credit; or
• A transfer to another program.
8. Tuition Credits
Approved tuition credits:
• May be used for future Great Light Education programs.
• May be transferred to immediate siblings, subject to approval.
• Cannot be exchanged for cash.
• Expire 12 months from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.

9. Exceptional Circumstances
Great Light Education may consider refund requests in exceptional circumstances, including:
• Serious medical conditions
• Extended hospitalisation
• Relocation overseas
• Other circumstances deemed reasonable by management
Supporting documentation may be requested.
Each application will be assessed individually.
10. Cancellation by Great Light Education
If Great Light Education cancels a class, program, or service and cannot provide a suitable alternative:
• A replacement lesson may be offered;
• A tuition credit may be issued; or
• A full or partial refund may be provided.
11. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.
Where a major failure in service occurs, students and parents may be entitled to a refund, replacement service, or other remedy as required by law.

Refund requests are generally reviewed within 5–10 business days.
