Class Change & Level Review Policy
Introduction
This policy outlines the procedures and conditions for requesting a class change or level review at Great Light Education ("GLE", "we", "our", or "us").
The purpose of this policy is to ensure students are placed in the most appropriate learning environment while maintaining fairness and consistency across all classes.
Class Change Requests
Parents may request a class change where:
• The current class time is no longer suitable;
• The student has scheduling conflicts;
• The family wishes to move to a different available class.
Class changes are subject to:
• Class availability;
• Suitable class size;
• Academic suitability;
• Teacher recommendation where applicable.
Submission of a request does not guarantee approval.
Great Light Education reserves the right to approve or decline any request.
Level Review Requests
Parents may request a level review if they believe:
• The current class is too easy;
• The current class is too challenging;
• The student requires additional support;
• The student may benefit from a more advanced class.
Level reviews may include:
• Review of classroom performance;
• Review of homework and assessments;
• Teacher feedback;
• Placement testing;
• Trial lessons.
The final placement decision remains at the sole discretion of Great Light Education.
Processing Time
Processing times may vary depending on class availability, assessment requirements, and staffing.
Parents will be notified once the review process has been completed.
Administrative Fees
Administrative processing fees may apply in accordance with the current Fee Schedule.
These fees cover administrative review, academic assessment, scheduling adjustments, and communication with families.
No Guarantee of Placement
Approval of a request does not guarantee placement into a preferred class, teacher, or timetable.
Alternative options may be offered where available.
